IC was performed on the one of the arms of patients after ice methods (Group B) and on the other arm with classical method (Group K). Blood pressure and heart rate were recorded before and after cannulation. Visual analog scale (VAS) and patient satisfaction was scored after procedure. The patients was answered which would you prefer from two methods.

Results: The mean age and body weight of the patients was 33.84±14.48 year and 70.31±10.57 kg, respectively. After canulation with ice, VAS (362±113) and HMS (253±072) was significantly lower when compared with classical method. The number of cases which preferred to ice method was 35/45 (%78) for next cannullation procedure.

Conclusion: We thought that the ice techniqe may be alternative to present methods, because it was cheap, easily obtain and applicable.
