Objective: We herein report the contraceptive methods and demographic properties of women using these contraceptive methods in Sarahatun Obstetric and Gynaecology Clinic.

Materials and Methods: Hospital records were examined retrospectively and sociodemographic properties of women and the choosen type of contraception are exemined.

Results: 2943 women were admitted to our clinic between October 2007 and October 2008. Intrauterine device was the most commonly choosen method and proportions of intrauterine device, condom, oral contraceptive and injection method were % 69.9, %15.7, %12.6 and %1.7 respectively.

Conclusion: The patients must be informed about the methods of contraception.
