Pseudolipoma of inferior vena cava (PIVC) refers to a variant of extracaval adipose tissue that is seen in typical pericaval location. It mimics fat-containing tumor of the inferior vena cava (IVC), such as a lipoma or liposarcoma. The multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) appearance of pericaval fat tissue lead to misdiagnosis and unnecessary diagnostic investigations. It is a rare variant so in the presence of fat a lesion in the lumen of IVC, PVİC should be considered in the differential diagnosis with the MDCT study.
