Objective: Pre-employment examinations are the most important and first step of occupational health and safety practices. This research aims to contribute to health surveillance and to emphasize the importance of pre-employment examinations.

Material and Method: The pre-employment examination forms of healthcare workers who applied to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Unit of Ankara Atatürk Sanatorium Training and Research Hospital for the first time between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020 were evaluated retrospectively without sample selection.

Results: Abnormal chest X-ray findings were detected in 45 (9.1%) of the 493 people included in the study, and there was no disease that prevented them from working was detected. It was observed that the rate of hepatitis B vaccination was statistically significantly higher in women than in men. The higher Anti-Hbs seropositivity in women's serological test results also supported this. The rate of occupational accidents was found to be higher in men.

Conclusion: The meticulous implementation of occupational health and safety studies in healthcare workers is very important for the health and safety of healthcare providers and patients who will benefit from this service.
