Evaulation of Circumstances of the Pregnants Applied to The Malatya Arapgir State Hospital for Prenatal Care Services and Affecting Factors (June 2004-2005) |

Objectives: The study has been aimed to evaulate the circumstances of the pregnants applied to the Malatya Arapgir State Hospital for the prenatal care services and affecting factors.
Materials and Method: The study is a cross-sectional. The survey forms including the questions about their socio-demographics characteristics and the antenatal care serviced to the 104 pregnants at their third trimester applied to the hospital were carried out face to face between June 2004-2005. Data about quantity of antenatal care services as “sufficient” or “insufficient” and quality of antenatal care services obtained. The research data were analyzed with the SPSS 11.0 statistics programme. Ki-square analysis was used. Results: 48.1% of the pregnants were serviced sufficient antenatal care. As factors affecting the antenatal care quality score; age, family type, hus-band’s education, social insurance were defined (P<0.005). According to the antenatal care quantity score, 6.7% of the pregnants were scored 1-2 points, 15.4% were scored 3-4 points, 75% were scored 5-6 points. As affecting factors the antenatal care quantity score, family type, mother’s education and husband’s education were defined. Conclusion: The health stuff should be more sensitive to give the antenatal care service as “sufficient and well-qualified” to the women with low level education and without a social insurance and living in rural area and benefitting from these services less by considering the factors affecting the antenatal care services negatively. |
