Objective: This study was aimed to determine the incedence of fasciolosis infections in animals slaughtered in Elazığ abattoirs during the years 2003 and 2007, and the extent of economic loss due to this infection.

Materials and Methods: Agriculture Province Directorship's record that sends out repots from public or private six slaughterhouses in central and boroughs of Elazığ were retrospectively investigated.

Results: During the period between 2003 January 1-2007 December 31, fasciolosis was present in 1.6%, 0.8% and 1.5% of the slaughtered sheep, goats and cows, respectively. According the company's wholesale prices, the total economical loss due to fasciolosis was calculated to be 75.64 YTL (63.03 USA dollars).
