Triobezoar, a Rare Cause of Small Bowel Obsturction in a Patient with Mental Retardation

Twenty one year old lady with a previous history of mental retardation, presented to surgical emergency department with features of acute intestinal obstruction. Exploratory laparotomy revealed trichobezoar in the terminal ileum without a parent bezoar in the stomach. She was managed by resection of the affected segment of the bowel, end to end anastomosis of the ileum. ©2006, Fırat Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi
